In modern living conditions, deviations in the health of children and young people occupy a special niche. There are various reasons for this: trauma to the nervous system during childbirth; genetic predisposition; physical inactivity associated with the use of devices; social disability, etc. All this leads to psychosomatic diseases, which are the result of the interaction between mental and physiological factors, in which mental stress or emotional states can affect physical health: migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, eczema, hypertension, somatization disorder, asthma, visceral organ disorders, musculoskeletal disorders. Analysis of data from countries around the world shows a significant positive impact of physical activity on various areas of children and youth. But there is another opinion, where there are other methods of restoring human strength in addition to physical activity. Introduction. One of the reasons should be considered the lack of full recovery of vital forces. Purpose. Identification of the most effective means of recreation for children and youth in modern conditions. The tasks of the study were: a review of the literature on the most effective recreation methods in the world; analysis of literature regarding scientific studies of recreational facilities among children and youth in Ukraine; determination of the most effective recreation means in modern conditions for children and students of higher educational institutions. Methods. Literature analysis, which allowed us to evaluate and compare different approaches, theories, and research related to our topic; Classification method - a classification system was used to organize information and provide a clear structure to our review; Method selection method provided an opportunity to assess which research methods are used in existing studies and whether they are appropriate to them. Results. The proposed methods of restoring vitality can be divided into three main groups: with a high level of physical activity – physical exercises; with an average level of physical activity – yoga; with a low level of physical activity – «antigravity unloading». Originality. Despite the level of physical exertion, each the considered method is effective as a mean of recreation. Conclusion. In our opinion, it is necessary to comprehensively approach the issue of vitality restoration, depending on the state of a person at a certain time, age, gender, his/her well-being. Prospects for further research are seen in the development of special poses for effective recreation with the presence of a corrective effect in the case of posture disorders.
