EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE OF FUTURE MASTERS IN SOCIAL WORK: CASES FOR DEVELOPMENT RESILIENCE

Abstract

Introduction. The research substantiates the place and role of educational cases aimed at developing the resilience of masters of social work in the process of educational practice. It has been established that the need to develop the resilience of professionals in social sector is caused by the objective social situation in modern Ukrainian society, which is characterized by a high level of crisis, trauma, and instability. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyze the place and role of professional cases for future masters of social work in the development of their resilience during educational practices. Methods. During the research process the methods of scientific analysis and synthesis were used to study the scientific sources on the problem of professional training of future masters in social work and the problem of resilience in professional activity; the method of classification was used to identify the main features of specialist’s resilience, the method of idealisation was used to build training cases of various types, which were used in the process of training practices. Results. Based on the analysis of numerous scientific sources, it is determined that the professional resilience of a social worker has a dual focus – on yourself and on the client, whose resilience determines success or failure in solving his/her difficult crisis life situation. The main signs of resilience of future social workers are classified: mental, emotional, facilitative, self-control, self-acceptance. The analysis of case studies for masters of social work is based on the author's experience of managing educational practice at Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University during 2022-2025. Originality. The scientific originality of the research lies in the design and testing of training cases on the development of future social workers’ resilience in the process of educational practice. Conclusions. The research can be used in the process of practice-oriented professional training of social workers by solving training cases. The case studies offered to students are presented in a combination of several groups: motivational (promote the formation of positive motivation for future professional activities), social and communication (develop mediation skills of future social workers), cases of counteracting professional burnout (the importance of which we see in preventing the burnout of social workers, which manifests itself in emotional exhaustion, loss of interest in the profession, indifference to the performance of duties and so on), facilitative (based on the concept of facilitation as a mutual influence caused by social contacts that contribute to the activation of group social and communicative relations, self-regulation and self-improvement of a social worker).
